A small, sandy beach with shallow clear waters, that offers families with small children enjoyable and stress-free moments, right at the edge of a beautiful lagoon.
So much more than meets the eye
St. Spyridon bay, at the northeast coast of Corfu, Greece, is a peaceful little beach overlooking the Ionian Sea that offers its visitors a lot more than just sun, sea and sand. It is a blissful cove situated close to our Corfu holiday villas (5-min drive from Beach House Villa and at a stone’s throw from Villa Zacharenia and Villa Diana), at the end of a lush olive grove, where you can relax under the shade of the trees lining the shoreline or leisurely watch your children build castles in the sand and splash in the calm shallow waters of this serene bay.
The beach offers a full range of amenities and activities that cater for your needs, from sunbed and umbrella hire to water sports, suitable both for adults and kids. You can taste local wine from the nearby vineyards in the seaside bar while gazing the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea or tryeel, mullet or sea bass fished from the lagoon in one of the nearby tavernas.
Last but not least, there is another unique feature that the guests in our Corfu villas can enjoy. St. Spyridon beach lies at the far end of Antinioti lagoon, a protected wetland area with a small forest, which you can explore, just by crossing a small wooden bridge at the far end of the cove, either on foot or by bike. Within this area, there is also a nice secluded beach where you can take a dive after your hike.
A perfect place to head out from our holiday villas in Corfu to have a quiet picnic under the trees, or a romantic stroll along the rocky path to the lagoon. If you feel like an explorer, you might want to spend some time around the lagoon for birdwatching, since it is a place where a lot of local species of fauna and flora live and migrant birds visit.
